Union Minister of State for Commerce and Industry, Nirmala Sitharaman, has been elected unopposed to Rajya Sabha from Andhra Pradesh on Thursday.
Ms. Sitharaman’s was the sole nomination for the vacancy caused by the death of Congress member and former Chief Minister N. Janardhana Reddy. Her candidature was supported by the ruling Telugu Desam Party.
