The monsoon session of Parliament will end today. The Modi government will be making one last effort to get the contentious and long pending Goods and Services Tax Bill through.

The thinking in the government is that it should press the advantage it got after it succeeded in breaking the ice on Wednesday when, for the first time in the current session of Parliament, the Opposition participated in a full-fledged discussion in the Lok Sabha.
