Krishna condoles Indian fisherman’s death

External Affairs Minister S M Krishna condoled the death of an Indian fisherman in firing by a US Naval vessel and said the Indian envoy in Dubai had informed him that the local authorities have filed a case regarding the incident.

"We are in touch with our envoys in Dubai and the US and we have instructed them to take it up with the respective Governments,” the Minister said when asked about the firing at a joint press conference with visiting Russian Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Rogozin in New Delhi on Tuesday.

"It is unfortunate that an Indian fisherman has been killed. On behalf of the Government of India, I condole the death. We have earnestly taken up the matter," the Minister added.
