Warm reception to Walk of Hope at Parumala

Parumala Orthodox Christian Seminary manager Augen Ramban receives spiritual leader Sri M on the arrival of the Walk of Hope led by him on the St. Paul’s and St. Peter’s Church premises at Parumala on Friday.

: The Walk of Hope led by spiritual leader Sri M of Manav Ekta Mission entered Pathanamthitta on Friday.

The walk that began from the Zero Point of the National Highway-47 at Kanyakumari on the Vivekananda Jayanti Day on January 12 had reached the sacred grove of Mannarassala, near Haripad, on Thursday.

The padayatra reached St Paul’s and St Peter’s Church that houses the tomb of St Gregorios on the banks of the Pampa at Parumala on Friday. Parumala seminary manager Augen Ramban received Sri M, by presenting him with a shawl. The entourage stayed at the Parumala seminary on Friday night.

The padayatra will reach Aranmula via Chengannur at noon on Saturday. Sri M will visit the ancestral home of poet Sugathakumari and lead a satsang near the Sree Parthasarathy Temple..The team will halt at Aranmula on Saturday night and will set off to Cherukolpuzha via Kozhencherry on Sunday morning.

Sri M will also address the Cherukolpuzha Hindu meet in the afternoon. The padayatra will halt at Vennikkulam, near Thiruvalla, in the evening. Sri M will be accorded a reception at the Thirumalida Temple in Mallappally on February 2 before it proceeds to Kottayam district. The padyayatra will cover 6,000 km in 18 months before it reaches Srinagar in Jammu & Kashmir, in 2016.
