The DLF group has termed media reports and allegations regarding ‘infirmities’ in the environmental and Coastal Regulation Zone clearance given to its Vyttila project as baseless and unfounded.
All the approvals for the project such as ‘building plan, pollution control board, environment and CRZ, and Fire License’ were obtained after ‘following the due process of law and applicable regulations.’
The construction was carried out in accordance with the sanctioned building plan, said a statement issued by Sanjey Roy, senior vice-president, Corporate Communications, of the group.

The 4.99 acre for the project was purchased in 2007 through proper title search and due diligence was done with prior ownership deeds, and registered with Registrar of land documents. The Chief Town Planner, Government of Kerala, had confirmed that the land was a thickly populated residential area falling under Residential Zone of Cochin Corporation.
The CRZ clearance was granted by Kerala Coastal Zone Management Authority “after due scrutiny and referred to MoEF as well as State Environment Impact Assessment Authority (SEIAA). The SEIAA issued our project integrated Environment cum CRZ clearance after due examination,” the statement said.
