Following a tip-off received by Vigilance and Anti-Corruption Bureau (VACB) Director Sudesh Kumar, a team led by Vigilance SP (Southern Range) R. Jayasankar conducted a surprise inspection of a patrol squad deployed by the Parassala police around 4 a.m.

They recovered unaccounted-for cash amounting to ₹13,960 from the police vehicle. This included notes of ₹100, ₹200 and ₹500 found beneath the driver’s seat. The police personnel involved are suspected to have collected the money without filing charges and beyond their jurisdictional limits.

The VACB has recommended department-level action against Parassala Grade sub-inspector Jyothish Kumar and driver Anil Kumar.
