Upgrade plans for CRPF in Kerala

October 24, 2013 02:38 pm | Updated 02:38 pm IST - KANNUR:

Union Minister of State for Home Mullappally Ramachandran has said that the Union Ministry has plans to upgrade and modernise the training infrastructure and capabilities of the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF).

After reviewing the passing-out parade of 877 recruit-constables of the CRPF at the CRPF Recruits Training Camp (RTC) at Peringome here on Wednesday, Mr. Ramachandran said that one of the organisational challenges the CRPF was facing today was lack of adequate training infrastructure. The Ministry had prepared a Rs.1,000-crore project to set up a new training centre and upgrading the existing training centres, he said.

Terming the law and order situation in the State as good, the Minister said that attempts were being made by anti-national forces to spoil the peaceful atmosphere in the State.
