Two persons were stabbed to death at Ottappalam near here late on Sunday night when they came on the scene of a drunken brawl. The deceased have been identified as Kizhakkethil Sumesh (27) and Uravil Gopal Sankar (28). Their relative Kayamkattil Unnikrishnan (51) also suffered stab injuries. He is recovering at a nearby hospital. The police said the two had reached the spot on learning about the attack on Unnikrishnan by a set of people who were engaged in drinking alcohol at a spot close to the local temple. It was a drunken brawl that resulted in the attack on Unnikrishnan. Sumesh died on the spot and Sankar died after he was taken to a private hospital in Malappuram. The police are investigating.
