CPI(M) Polit Bureau member Sitaram Yechury said here on Sunday that his party had no intention of satisfying public curiosity by revealing the details of the internal inquiry conducted by the party into to the T.P. Chandrashekharan murder case.
Speaking at a meet-the-press programme organised by the Calicut Press Club, the senior CPI (M) leader said the findings of the report was accurate and appropriate action was taken against the responsible person.

“People have the freedom to accept or oppose the action in a democratic system,” he maintained. He also explained that such an internal inquiry mechanism was not operational anywhere and the party had the credit of doing it. Responding to questions on the credibility of the report, he said, “Why should people be curious about our report, which was purely an internal affair?”
He said the Kasturirangan report was the biggest issue in Kerala.

It was more important than the murder case.
“The recommendations in the report are likely to affect even the existence of the people in the Western Ghat area,” he observed.
“People are looking for an alternative with a non-congress and non-BJP leadership,” he said.
He said the Congress was ‘fostering communalism.’ Electing the Congress to power again would be counterproductive in the nation’s effort to fight communal elements.
“Also we should not allow the communal forces to exploit the discontent of the people against a government,” he added.
