Employees owing allegiance to the INTUC-affiliated Transport Democratic Front (TDF) will resort to token strike in the Kerala State Transport Corporation (KSRTC) on November 4 in support of their demands.

The TDF, which is demanding prompt payment of salary to the 31,000 odd employees on the rolls and disbursement of pending six instalment of DA arrears, served the strike notice on the Chairman and Managing Director, KSRTC, M.P. Dinesh on Monday.

The decision to go on strike will be communicated to Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan, Transport Minister A.K. Saseendran, Labour Minister T.K. Ramakrishnan and others on Wednesday by the TDF leaders. The decision to disburse 80% of the net salary to those on the rolls and the stalemate over the termination of the 2,358 empanelled drivers have forced the TDF to go on strike.
