The new Taliparamba Revenue Division Office has become full-fledged with the posting of Assistant Collector Arjun Pandian as Subcollector/Revenue Divisional Officer (RDO) of Taliparamba.
An official press release informing this here on Tuesday said that with the full-fledged functioning of the Taliparamba Revenue Division at the Mini Civil Station at Taliparamba, all services available at the Thalassery RDO office would be available to people in Kannur, Taliparamba and Payyannur taluks.
The services included tribunal for welfare of senior citizens and parents, disposal of issues relating to databank under the Kerala Conservation of Paddy Land and Wetland Act, 2008, issuance of no-objection certificate for delayed registration of birth-death certificates, and works relating to return of unutilised stamp paper with value exceeding ₹1 lakh, it said.

In addition to these services, the RDO, as Sub Divisional Magistrate, would have the magisterial powers to issue order to any person to execute a bond under Section 107 of the Code of Criminal Procedure if that person would commit a breach of peace, order for removal of nuisance under Section 133 of the code, and initiate proceedings under Section 174 of the code related to incidents of unnatural death.
The RDO is the appeal authority on problems involving the certificates issued by Tahsildars and complaints related to building tax, pokuvaravu (transfer and mutation of land-related issues), and land tax.
The RDO office at Taliparamba has 24 employees including a senior Superintendent and two Junior Superintendents. District Collector Mir Mohammed Ali said all files relating to issues that came under the jurisdiction of the new RDO office had been shifted from Thalassery RDO office to Taliparamba.

He also said the e-Office facility would be started at Taliparamba from next month.
