The disruptive strike by Kerala State Road Transport Corporation (KSRTC) repairmen has been resolved.
The agitation had hit KSRTC operations and inconvenienced passengers since Monday. The spanner-down revolt had drastically reduced the number of buses the corporation could put on the road. Transport Minister Thomas Chandy told journalists that KSRTC operations were now fully resumed.
The mechanics had boycotted work to force the KSRTC to withdraw what they termed as a punishing increase in the number of night shifts.

The KSRTC said the “single duty” system was introduced to ensure more servicemen at depots at night. A study had found that the highest number of buses docked for repairs after 7 p.m.
Mr. Chandy said the workers agreed to single duty eight-hour shifts. A special 12-hour shift from 7 p.m. to 7 a.m. had been introduced to ensure round-the-clock availability of servicemen.
