Six AIYF activists held for waving black flag at CM

Taking the police by surprise, six activists of the All India Youth Federation (AIYF) rushed from the among the audience and waved a black flag at Chief Minister Oommen Chandy on Thursday morning when he was coming out of  the dais after inaugurating the new hockey stadium at Asramam in the city.

The six also shouted slogans demanding the resignation of Finance Minister K. M. Mani in the backdrop of the bar licence bribery controversy. A group of Youth Congress activists coming forward to counter the AIYF activists led to tension at the venue. The police immediately intervened and arrested the AIYF activists. The police said that the AIYF activists were led by the State secretary R. Sajilal, the district secretary, C.P. Pradeep, and the district president Anil S. Kallelibhagam. All the six were later released on bail.
