Pinarayi criticises remarks of Union Minister

CPI(M) leader Pinarayi Vijayan has said the recent attacks on Dalits in Haryana pointed to the RSS-Sangh Parivar’s agenda to revive caste hierarchy in the country.

The recent remarks of Union Minister V.K. Singh exposed the upper caste mindset of the saffron party, Mr. Vijayan said.

"Designs must be frustrated"

The designs of the RSS should be frustrated at all cost, he said addressing a municipal election rally in Kanhangad. The people would expose the BJP move to join hands with SNDP Yogam general secretary Vellappally Natesan.

The seeds of progressive ideals sowed by social reformer Sree Narayana Guru paved way for a solid Left mindset in Kerala, Mr. Vijayan said.

Mr. Natesan was trying to take the SNDP into the “anti-reservation fold” by aligning with the RSS, he said, adding that the move would meet with stiff resistance in Kerala. The upcoming poll would be a bitter lesson for those bent on destroying secular values in the State, he said.
