There has been a rise of 2 percentage points in the water level in reservoirs under the Kerala State Electricity Board (KSEB) following heavy rain in the past two days.
The water level in the reservoirs rose from 72% to 74%. On Wednesday, there was a water storage to produce 2,985.2 mu (million unit) of electricity. As per the estimate on Friday, there was water storage to produce 3,045.231 mu. The water level showed an increasing trend on Friday too with the rain continuing.
In the Pampa and Kakki reservoirs, water level rose by 5 percentage points on a single day. This is the first time that water storage has risen to this level in a day. At the Sholayar dam, it rose by 1 percentage point, while the Kundal reservoir was at its full capacity.

Water level in the Mullaperiyar dam rose to 128 ft on Friday. It was 121.7 ft on Wednesday and on a single day it rose by 6.3 ft. This is the first time the water storage has risen to this level on a single day.
