Rights panel slams cop

Kerala State Human Rights Commission member (Judicial) R. Natarajan has said that the arrogance of a few police officials was a disgrace for the entire police force. The strong observation was made while considering a complaint submitted by Reghunandan, a native of Mavelikkara, against the former Mavelikkara Circle Inspector Jayachandran. On the basis of a previous petition submitted by the complainant, the Commission had ordered the Mavelikkara police to register a case after taking the statement of those concerned. However, the complainant alleged that he was abused after producing the Commission’s order at the office of the Circle Inspector.
