Rathan Kelkar new Kannur Collector

Rathan Kelkar took charge as the new District Collector here on Monday.

Mr. Kelkar took charge as the new Collector here at around 2-30 p.m.

Though he had been appointed the Collector two months ago in the wake of the incumbent Collector Anand Singh having gone on deputation as Officer on Special Duty to Minister of State for External Affairs E. Ahamed, he could not took over charge as the Collector as he was appointed as election observer in Uttar Pradesh.

A 2003 batch IAS officer, Mr. Kelkar was appointed as Collector while he was serving as the Director of the Grand Kerala Shopping Festival.

He had also served as Director of the IT Mission and Director of the National Rural Health Mission in the State, among others.
