One more person was arrested by the Peerumade police on Sunday in connection with the alleged rape and death of a 15-year-old girl from Peerumade at Perumbalur in Tamil Nadu. Harikumar, a native of Peerumade, who allegedly worked as an agent in a deal for sending the girl to Perambalur as a house-maid was arrested and one more person is absconding, said the police.
Earlier, the Tamil Nadu police had arrested former MLA of Perambalur, Rajkumar and two of his accomplices after the postmortem report at the Theni Medical College confirmed that the girl raped and died after consuming poison. In a case filed before the Perumade police by the parents of the victim said that she was sent to the house of Rajkumar on a promise that she will continue her education there.
A team led by Kattappana Dy SP on Saturday arrested two persons from Peerumade who allegedly worked as agent for the deal.

The girl died at the Theni medical College on June 4.
