Heavy rain and wind that lashed the district for the past six days causing huge loss, seems to have taken a break.
Yet, the extent of loss and devastation caused by the rain continue to haunt people. Power supply could not be restored in many places. Kerala State Electricity Board authorities said it would take time to fully restore the supply.
The land phone services were also affected in many places. Only one way traffic could be restored at areas affected by landslips.

Latest official estimate pegged the loss at ₹1,01,738,900.
Landslips
Landslips also damaged the Kanjar-Wagamon road at many places. An official of the Revenue Department said that the estimate of damage in the rains was yet to be received from many village offices.

As per the official estimate, 12 houses were fully damaged and 196 houses partially damaged in the district.
The standing crops in 918 hectors of land were also damaged.
Peerumade taluk continued to record the highest rainfall as per the data on Wednesday.
Dam water level
The water level in the Idukki dam is rising at a level of 4 ft per day.
The water level in the reservoir reached 2,334 ft on Wednesday.
The water level in Mullaperiyar dam was also increasing. The increase was recorded at a level of 3 ft per day. It reached 125 ft on Tuesday.
