Plan to open Ayurveda centres in all panchayats

Mr. Babu said this while addressing the gathering after inaugurating the State council meeting of the two-day 15{+t}{+h} State conference of the Ayurveda Medical Association of India (AMAI). He said the government would set up Ayurveda centres in all panchayats in the State.

Mr. Babu said after the Chandy government came to power, a sub-committee was constituted to solve the problems raised by the AMAI with respect to the S.P. 7 licence. The licence was required for retail sale of Ayurvedic preparations containing alcohol. The committee had submitted its report and the suggestions put forward by the AMAI had been notified, the Minister said. He said the government was taking steps to revise the L2 licence, which was required for manufacturing medicines containing alcohol.
