Pengal Otrumai nominee files papers

Pengal Otrumai general secretary Rajeswary on Wednesday submitted her nomination papers to contest from the Devikulam Assembly constituency.

Pengal Otrumai was in the news following a successful agitation led by women workers of Kanan Devan Hills Plantation Ltd.

To raise workers’ issues

She said she was contesting as there was no effort from the former representatives of the constituency to solve the problems of the estate workers. She said she would stand with the people and change in the estate workers’ lives for the better and develop the tourism sector.

She was accompanied by Pengal Otrumai president Lissie Sunny, vice-president Kausalya and treasurer Stella Mary.
