: The educational district of Pathanamthitta has the State’s lowest pass percentage of 76.17 in the higher secondary examinations (HSE) this year too.
But, the district has fared better than the previous year when it registered pass percentage of 71.73.
Of 13,239 students who appeared for the HSE in 79 schools in the district, 10,127 students were declared eligible for higher studies. In all, 322 students secured A+ in all subjects while three schools recorded 100 per cent pass — Government Higher Secondary School, Manakkala (24 students), School for the Deaf at Enathu (4), and Model Residential School, Vadasserikkara (24).

Four students in the district scored full marks in all subjects — Thesni Mariyam Thomas and Sheba Susan George of SC HSS in Tiruvalla, Aswathi Anil of AMM HSS at Edayaranmula, and Aswin Raj of Government HSSS at Konni. The Government HSS has the lowest percentage of 29.25 in the district.
Technical schools
The pass percentage in the Technical School section in the district was 93.37. A total of 183 students (out of 196) were declared eligible for higher studies in the examinations. Fifteen students secured A+ in all subjects.

In the Open School section, 97 of the 393 students who took the examinations were declared eligible for higher studies.
