The State government will initiate steps within a month to revise the salary of nurses in private hospitals, Labour Minister T.P. Ramakrishnan has said.

The Minister said in a release here on Wednesday that salary hike was being actively considered by the government and it was proposed to do it through consensus. The Industrial Relations Committee on private hospitals had been told to submit proposals fixing the minimum wages for those employed in private hospitals and dispensaries. The committee findings would be examined by the minimum waged advisory board and make recommendations to the government so that a decision would be made at the earliest, he said.
