NSS leader passes away

Senior lawyer and long-time director board member of the Nair Service Society, N.S. Prabhakaran Pillai, died of old age-related ailments in Thiruvalla on Sunday. He was 84 and survived by Lalithambika, wife; Muraleekrishnan, Harikrishnan, and Geetha, children.

Various socio-political leaders paid tributes to the departed soul on Monday.

The body was cremated at the residential courtyard in Thiruvalla town on Monday afternoon.

Ramesh Chennithala, Home Minister; P.J. Kurien, Deputy Chairman of Rajya Sabha; G. Sukumaran Nair, NSS general secretary; P.N. Narendranathan Nair, NSS president; K. Sivadasan Nair, Mathew T. Thomas, MLAs, and K.N. Viswanathan, were among those who have paid homage to Mr Nair on Monday.

Prof Kurien inaugurated the condolence meeting held, later, in the afternoon.
