Jnanpith-winning poet O.N.V. Kurup had one of the most memorable moments in his life on Friday, when, for the first time, a collection of his 50 poems in Russian translation was published at the Gorky Institute of World Literature in Moscow.
According to information reaching here, academician Kudelin Alexander Borisovich, president of the institute, received the book. Among those present were Sherbakova Marina Ivanovn, head of Russian and Oriental Classical Literature at the Russian Academy of Sciences, besides a galaxy of Russian poets and writers.
The collection, brought out by the institute, has selections from his widely read and appreciated collections as

Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov has authored the introduction of the book. Only occasional works of the poet have been translated into Russian so far. The poet also addressed a literary gathering at the Pushkin Institute where he and delivered a lecture at the Department of Letters of the Moscow University.
