Novel protest by Principals

The Principals of higher secondary schools in Thrissur staged a novel protest on Saturday by sweeping the road in front of the city corporation.

They staged the protest to press for their demand to appoint office staff in higher secondary schools.

The Principal Forum’s demands included appointment of clerks, peons and menial staff in higher secondary schools and designating Principals as self-drawing officers.

Former Mayor I.P. Paul inaugurated the protest. The government had been harassing the Principals by not appointing office staff for higher secondary schools for the last 25 years, the protesters said. Principal Forum president K.R. Manikandan presided over.
