No need for people to panic: CM

Says infection is under control

The State government has brought the Nipah virus infection in Changaroth village in the Perambra region of Kozhikode district under control and there in no need for people to panic, Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan has said.

He told mediapersons herethat the government medical college hospital in Kozhikode and other public health institutions in the district were equipped to tackle the fever, which spread through bats.

“There is no need for panic. People should be vigilant against the spreading of the disease by fruit bats,’’ he said.
