New govt. college in Malappuram

The government will set up an arts and science college for women in Malappuram, Chief Minister Oommen Chandy has said.

Briefing reporters after a Cabinet meeting here on Wednesday, Mr. Chandy said that a special officer would be appointed for setting up the college.

The Local Fund Audit will hereafter be known as Kerala State Audit Department.

The Kerala State Construction Corporation will get preferential concession only for the works directly executed by the corporation. At present, the concession was being given to the works outsourced by the corporation too.

Salary revision

Salary of the National Institute for Speech and Hearing (NISH) staff will be revised with retrospective effect from July 1, 2014.

Staff of the mobile health units at Attappady will be eligible for the special allowance being given to other department staff in the tribal belt.

A final decision on including the Secretariat staff in the Kerala Administrative Service will be taken only after a Cabinet subcommittee had discussions with the service organisations of the Secretariat employees.

A government order issued in this regard had created confusion and hence the meeting decided to clear the air, Mr. Chandy said.
