The Kathirur police, however, said Sarojini had not suffered any injury in the alleged attack by RSS workers. She had been undergoing treatment for some age-related ailment and was admitted to Pariyaram Medical College on February 19 for treatment.

If the doctors had been told that she had sustained injuries in the attack, the police would have been promptly informed by the hospital authorities.

Moreover, a police team that visited the house and nearby areas a couple of times in connection with the investigation into the attack had not been told by her relatives that she had been hospitalised with injuries suffered in the attack, the police said.
