Travancore Devaswom Board president Prayar Gopalakrishnan has said that the board will make more facilities for pilgrims to take rest at Sabarimala and its transit camps during the coming Mandalam-Makaravilakku pilgrim season.

The TDB chief was addressing the Sabarimala Sukha Darshanam programme of the Pathanamthitta Press Club at the Press Club Hall here on Tuesday.

He said the work on the third floor of the Annadana Mandapam at the Sabarimala Sannidhanam was progressing fast and the board had already made arrangements to serve food to 5000 pilgrims at a time there. A lift system would be installed for carrying the pilgrims to the first and second floor of the Annadana Mandapam, he said.

Mr. Gopalakrishnan said the board had sought permission to lay one more waterline from the Kunnar dam to the water tanks at Sabarimala.

The board had been fulfilling the water needs at Sabarimala with the water brought from the Kunnar dam through gravitational flow.
