Man held on patricide charge

The police took into custody a 28-year-old man, who allegedly killed his father in an inebriated condition at Pandi Vellarikaya in Kasaragod on Tuesday morning.  According to the Andhur police, the incident took place around 5 a.m. The deceased man has been identified as Balakrishnan, 56, a native of Vallarikaya. The police took into custody his son Narendra Prasad, who allegedly beat the victim to death.

Narendra Prasad’s liquor addiction is said to be the reason for the wrangle between them, the police said, and added that a case under Section 302 of the Indian Penal Code has been registered.
