Arun Kumar Aravind seems not alone in his battle against those who have ‘blacklisted’ him from the Malayalam film industry. The director’s latest project with Manju Warrier in the lead role had run into rough weather.

The Kerala Film Producers Association had blacklisted him after the producer of his previous movie One By Two held him responsible for the inordinate delay in completing the movie. The organisation had asked the producer of the Manju Warrier-film to reconsider the project before going ahead with it.

Sibi Malayil, senior leader of the Film Employees Federation of Kerala, told Tinsel Town recently that the producers had not brought up the issue related to Aravind’s latest movie before the federation. “We had resolved the earlier issue related to the One by Two movie after the director approached us. Our stance is that producers’ association should not ban a filmmaker unilaterally, without discussing it with the federation,” he said.
