The Special Investigation Team (SIT) probing the murder of Revolutionary Marxist Party (RMP) leader T.P. Chandrasekharan has issued lookout circulars for 12 persons, including the prime accused, Payappadi Rafeeq and N.K. Sunil Kumar, alias Kodi Suni, in connection with the case.
The circulars have been issued to all gateways, including international airports in the country, sources here on Friday said. The names, other personal particulars, and case details of the accused have been forwarded to the Union Ministry of Home Affairs and the Additional Director-General of Police (Intelligence).
The circulars are being issued since May 7. However, the SIT has not been able to arrest any of the accused a week after the murder. Chandrasekharan was hacked by a killer-gang at Vallikkad, near Onchiyam, at 10.15 p.m. Friday last.

The sources said the SIT had taken into custody more than 15 persons for interrogation. The assailants had attempted to mislead the police by using a fake number plate on the Toyota Innova used by them for killing Chandrasekharan. The original number of the multi-utility vehicle was KL58 D-8144, and it was owned by K.P. Naveen Das of Thalassery.
The fake number plate was removed after the vehicle was concealed in a remote place at Marankandy under the Chokli police station limits in Kannur district. Interestingly, the hired killers had pasted a sticker ‘Masha Allah' in Arabic (God has willed it) on the rear glass of the vehicle to deceive the police.
A similar tactic was used by the same gang in the murder of National Development Front (NDF) activist P.O.M. Fazal in Thalassery in 2006. Then, the assailants had deliberately put a trident near the body to give the impression that the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) had carried out the murder.
