The Kerala State Electricity Board (KSEB) on Monday said it had succeeded in arranging the supply of 100 MW of power from Jhajjar Thermal Power Station in Haryana and, therefore, any need to re-introduce load-shedding had been averted.
Earlier in the day, there was some concern about the availability of sufficient energy for the KSEB from Tuesday to satisfy the peak-time demand in the State because of certain constraints in the transmission lines bringing power from outside under short-term power purchase contracts.
In a press release late in the day, the KSEB said it had been trying to avert the need for load-shedding somehow and the effort had succeeded.
