: LDF candidates for the Thrissur district panchayat elections filed their nominations before the District Collector on Wednesday.
Of the 29 seats, the CPI(M) and the CPI will contest in 17 and eight seats respectively. Fatima Lenus (Vadakkekkad) and Sulekha Kadher (Kadappuram) will contest as independents. Rakhi Sajeev of the CMP will stand at Puthur and M. Padmini Teacher of the NCP will fight from Choondal.
Meanwhile, BJP district president A. Nagesh announced candidates for 24 divisions in the Thrissur district panchayat.
