The last of the Nipah-infected patients, who has since recovered, was discharged from the Government Medical College Hospital, Kozhikode, on Thursday.
The native of Malappuram district would be kept under house surveillance for at least a week, said G. Sajeeth Kumar, Superintendent, MCH.
The medical officer from the local primary health centre (PHC) had been asked to keep a watch on his health on a daily basis.

“As the case is with any other fever, his immunity level could be low. If he has any discomfort, immediate care will be provided at the local PHC. He has been asked to approach the MCH for further help. His condition will be reviewed after four weeks,” Dr. Sajeeth Kumar said.
His wife had earlier succumbed to the infection.
Another patient, a native of Kozhikode district, who had recovered from the infection, was discharged on June 11.

She too is under observation at home and is planning to continue her studies after the treatment is over.
Tested negative
As of now, the lab results of all the patients admitted to the MCH with suspected symptoms have turned out to be negative, sources said.
