Congress leader V.M. Sudheeran has taken exception to Advocate-General (AG) K.P. Dandapani making a submission, apparently favouring Salim Raj, suspended gunman of Chief Minister Oommen Chandy, in the High Court on Tuesday.
Mr. Sudheeran was talking to mediapersons at a meeting to commemorate the first death anniversary of Revolutionary Socialist Party (RSP) leader K. Pankajakshan.
The case against Salim Raj pertained to his alleged involvement in a land grab case and the plea before the High Court in this connection was to implead four telecom companies as respondents to secure call details.

The AG had raised objections to this, he said.
Mr. Sudheeran said he had expressed reservations over the issue and other aspects at the appropriate forum of the party. “As it is, the situation is not very congenial for the Congress in the State and so I do not want to talk more on such issues and worsen the situation,” he said.
No situation under which the people start losing confidence in democracy should be allowed to prevail. The political wing of society should view it with due seriousness, he said.

Our Special Correspondent writes from Thiruvananthapuram: Congress legislator K. Muraleedharan said here on Wednesday that he favoured discussions on all important political issues in appropriate platforms, whether it related to the party or the ruling United Democratic Front (UDF).
Responding to questions of mediapersons, Mr. Muraleedharan said the main reason for the current rounds of controversies in the party and the front was the failure of the party leadership to convene various designated committees, including the government-party coordination committee. The committee had met only once after the end of Ramesh Chennithala’s Kerala Yatra in mid-May. The same view was expressed by Congress leader V.M. Sudheeran during his New Delhi visit, he said adding the Kerala Pradesh Congress Committee (KPCC) president and the UDF convener should be privy to all issues affecting the party and the coalition.
The current infighting in the party and the UDF would affect the electoral prospects of the coalition in the coming Lok Sabha elections and pending issues should be sorted out without further delay, the former KPCC president said.
