Diverted

The vehicular traffic from the Thiruvalla side has been diverted from Kallisserry to Chengannur via the Mangalam road, which has been badly damaged due to the heavy truck and bus traffic for the past few months.

The condition of the diversion route from Mundankavu leading to the Parumala-Chengannur road is still worse, making travel on it nightmarish to the mortorists as well as pedestrians.

The BJP leader, Aji R. Nair, has alleged criminal negligence on the part of the people’s representatives in ensuring proper and prompt repair and maintenance of these diversion roads and facilitate smooth vehicular traffic on them till the MC Road development work was over.

Though the contractors have partially repaired the Mundankavu-Puthenveettilpady diversion road following intervention of Kodikkunnil Suresh, MP, a few weeks ago, the road condition has been further worsened in the next spell of rain itself.

P.C. Vishnunath, MLA, has demanded the KSTP authorities to repair the diversion roads on a warfooting.
