Senior CPI leader and national president of Bharatiya Khet Mazdoor Union (BKMU) K E Ismail has alleged prejudice in the police investigation in the murder case of T P Chandrasekharan.

Inaugurating the State camp of the Kerala Karshaka Thozhilali Federation affiliated to BKMU-AITUC here on Saturday, Mr Ismail said the State government and its police have not take any action against UDF leaders who had made highly provocative speeches. Referring to the reported speeches by Congress (I) leader K Sudhakaran MP and IUML leader P K Basheer MLA , the CPI leader said that the police action taken against Left leaders in similar conditions were much different.

Referring to the murder of T P Chandrasekharan, Mr Ismail said no one could take on ideas through violence or weapons. The use of weapons was resorted when one could not challenge one idea with another. The important thing was the realization that weapons and violence would not take you much in the onward march of progressive ideologies, he said.

While politics of violence has to be resisted at any cost, what was being carried out now in the State was the all out effort to destruct an opposition political party by the State and the government, Mr Ismail alleged. The ‘colourful’ speeches by some persons have only helped to turn the murder more gruesome, he said.

CPI State Council Member V B Binu presided. Kerala Karshaka Thozhilali Federation president Pallipram Balan, P K Krishnan, general secretary C K Sasidharan, CPI district secretary, P K Chitrabhanu, K P Rajendran, Kanam Rajendran and others addressed the camp.
