Jackfruit Fest 2015, a three-day event organised jointly by the District Tourism Promotion Council (DTPC), Uravu Bamboo Village, and Vythiri grama panchayat, will be held on the Pookode lakeshore from June 5.
The programme intended to sensitised the public on the commercial potential of the fruit, the organisers said in a release here.
Various programmes including a jackfruit-based cookery competition would be held. The largest fruit on display would get a special prize.

The display and sale of value-added products would be an attraction, the organisers said.
