Hashish oil seized, two held

The police here have seized 450 gram of hashish oil valued around ₹9 lakh in the international market and arrested two youths in connection with the incident.

On a tip-off provided by the Kasaragod Police Circle Inspector C.A. Abdul Rahim, a team led by Kasaragod Town police Principal Sub-Inspector P. Ajithkumar seized the top graded narcotic substance from a car parked near an arterial road adjacent to the Chandragiri State Highway bridge on Saturday afternoon, police sources here said.

The police also arrested local youths Faisal alias “tyre” Faisal, 31, and Muhammed Haneef, 23. The youths were charged under provisions of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act remanded in judicial custody after they was produced in a court here, the police said.

The preliminary interrogation of the youths revealed that the liquefied narcotic substance was planned to be smuggled to a Gulf destination. The car used by the youths was also impounded by the police.
