State Women’s Commission chairperson M.C. Josephine said here on Monday that the Grievance Redressal committees that deal with violence against women should be more vigilant in ensuring justice to women.

Such committees functioning in some private institutions, especially in educational institutions, were constituted as per the vested interests of managements, Ms. Josephine added.

Many a time such committees try to dismiss the complaints of the victim by saying that the issue was under consideration of the police, Ms. Josephine said.

The victims do not get justice in time owing to the apathy of such committees, she said.
