Gopinath Ravindran selected VC

Professor of History at Jamia Millia Islamia Gopinath Ravindran has been appointed Vice Chancellor of Kannur University. The appointment was announced here on Monday by the office of the Governor, who is also the Chancellor of the university.

A native of Kozhikode, he began his teaching career at St. Stephan’s College, New Delhi, in 1987 and moved to Jamia Millia Islamia University shortly afterwards. He did his BA Honours in History and his MA, M.Phil. and doctoral degree from the Centre for Historical Studies at Jawaharlal Nehru University.

He did his post-doctoral research work at the London School of Economics.
