Gas tanker overturns

Traffic on the Thrissur-Palakkad National Highway has been disrupted since Tuesday night after a capsule gas tanker overturned at Pattikkad, near here.

The tanker that was transporting gas from Kalamassery to Coimbatore overturned after the driver lost control of the vehicle. The transferring of gas from a capsule gas tanker lorry is still not completed. The traffic was disrupted as the tanker was lying across the road.

The gas from the tanker has been shifting to another tanker under the supervision of officials from the Cochin Refineries. According to the officials, the tanker can be removed only after emptying the gas. However, a major accident was averted as there was no gas leakage.
