Shravya told presspersons waiting outside the CBI office that she knew Fayas, however, she denied any role in smuggling.

Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) officials interrogated the former Miss South India, Shravya Sudhakar, at the agency’s office here on Monday as she allegedly had links with Fayas, the key accused in a case of smuggling of gold through the international airport here.

The agency had issued a summons to her. The officials said the interrogation had revealed her close association with Fayas. The interrogation will continue on Tuesday.

“We had received the call record details regarding communication between Fayas and Shravya. Shravya had undertaken several trips to Dubai and they may have been arranged by Fayas. We have recorded her statement. She is cooperating with our procedures,” an official said.
