Democratic Youth Federation of India (DYFI) workers waved black flags at Revenue Minister Adoor Prakash and shouted slogans here on Friday, accusing the Minister of giving money to the solar scam accused Saritha S. Nair.

Mr. Prakash had just started his inaugural address at a function to distribute title deeds, when about 10 DYFI activists, led by district president Biju Kandakkai, stormed into Navaneetham Auditorium and shouted slogans.

The protestors were arrested and removed and the Minister resumed his address. Later, he denied having had any connection with Saritha or giving her money.

He said he had called her once when she allegedly swindled a teacher in his constituency. He said he had only performed his duty as a representative of the people when he got a complaint from the teacher.

“There is no need to protect her,” he said denying that he had given her Rs.30 lakh as alleged in a report.

Later in the day, DYFI members waved black flags at the Minister at a title deed distribution function in Kozhikode too.
