Mullappally seeks Chief Minister’s response on bogus voting

Kerala Pradesh Congress Committee president Mullappally Ramachandran has challenged Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan to respond to the alleged bogus voting in booth number 19 at the Pilathara AUP school in the Payyannur Assembly segment of the Kasaragod Lok Sabha constituency .

He was addressing media persons here on Sunday after a review meeting on the election in the Wayanad Lok Sabha constituency.

Mr. Ramachandran said though some Malayalam news channels telecast visuals of the alleged bogus voting on Saturday, Mr. Vijayan and CPI(M) State unit secretary Kodiyeri Balakrishnan were yet to respond to the incident.

Mr. Ramachandran said that Mr. Vijayan and Mr. Balakrishnan with the support of CPI(M) leaders had been sabotaging the election process in the Malabar region for the past many decades.

The CPI(M) had made a well-planned and well-organised move to sabotage the Lok Sabha election and torpedo the democratic set up of the country, Mr. Ramachandran said.

Moreover names of many new voters owing allegiance to the UDF were deleted from the final voters’ list after the intervention of the party, he said.

The Election Commission should examine the CCTV footage of the webcasting and adopt steps to prevent such anti-democratic moves in the State, Mr. Ramachandran said, adding that he was also a victim of the bogus voting when he contested in Kannur.

Rahul to win

Rahul Gandhi would win from the Wayanad Lok Sabha constituency with a majority of more than three lakh votes.

The CPI(M) would loss its national party status after the election results, Mr. Ramachandran said.
