A master diploma course in panchagavya therapy will be started at the Gandhi Smaraka Grama Seva Kendram in Alappuzha. The curriculum of the one-year course has been prepared by the Maharshi Vagbhada Goshala Panchagavya Anusandhan Kendra, Kancheepuram, Tamil Nadu.
Treatment based on panchagavya, consisting of indigenous cow’s milk, dung, urine, ghee, and curd, is a traditional method of treating several chronic diseases. The kendra in Tamil Nadu has been engaged in research in the field. The course is being arranged in residential and non-residential categories. There will be 24 classes, each of 10 hours, totalling 240 hours a year. The classes in the residential segment will be held in semesters, spread over the year, with a gap of two months between two semesters. In the non-residential category, classes will be held every second Saturday and second Sunday. The final semester will be held at Kancheepuram. Successful candidates will have a two-year internship.
