CMP leader’s house attacked

The house of Communist Marxist Party (CMP) district secretary B. Sukumaran, who is pitted against CPI(M) leader and Kanhangad municipal chairman aspirant V. V. Rameshan, was attacked by a group of unidentified people in the early hours on Thursday.

A group of people who came on bike and cars pelted stones at Mr. Sukumaran’s house at Karattuvayal here. Windowpanes of the building were damaged. A complaint has been lodged with the Kanhangad police said. Mr. Sukumaran has put up a stiff challenge against Mr. Rameshan in the l CPI(M) pocket of Athiyambur ward.
