Chief Minister Oommen Chandy said here on Monday that KPCC and the Congress Parliamentary party were working in unison and there were no differences between him and the KPCC president Ramesh Chennithala.
The Chief Minister was responding to questions from the media, after a Cabinet meeting, on the Nair Society’s threat to pull down the government if Mr. Chennithala was not given a key post in government.
“We have been working together for the past eight years. We have seen no fight between the party and government unlike in the past.”

Maintaining that he was not for creating a controversy by joining issue with the NSS General Secretary G. Sukumaran Nair, Mr. Chandy said that people had freedom to interact with Congress party and criticise its government. Mr. Nair was exercising that liberty. He would have been sitting at home if he was unwilling to face criticism. He had already replied to criticism about Cabinet reshuffle.
Asked whether Mr. Nair was acting as a proxy for Mr. Chennithala, the Chief Minister said that if the KPCC president had anything to tell him, he would have spoken to him directly. “We are having good relations.”
